Spun Bamboo Production Process

At Vietnam Handicraft Co., Ltd, our production of spun bamboo products follows a systematic and professional process that ensures both quality and craftsmanship. Here is an overview of each key step:
1. Material
We select high-quality Nua bamboo (Neohouzeaua) grown in Northern Vietnam, known for its flexibility and durability—ideal for coiling techniques.
2. Material Processing
Bamboo is soaked for about 90 days to remove sugars and prevent mold. It is then sun-dried and split into thin slats by local artisans.
3. Moulding / Coiling
The bamboo strips are glued and hand-coiled into flat mats, which are then shaped using wooden or concrete molds to form trays, bowls, or boxes.
4. Planing
The shaped products are planed to smooth the surface and remove any uneven layers.
5. Incoming Quality Control (QC)
Each mold is inspected for size, shape, smell, and appearance before being accepted into further production.
6. Gluing
Products are dipped in waterproof glue to improve structure and moisture resistance.
7. Filling
Any holes or cracks are filled with a mixture of stone powder and glue, ensuring a flawless surface.
8. Sanding
Filled products are machine-sanded to create a smooth, uniform finish.
9. Painting
Products are painted by trained artisans in ventilated rooms. We offer matte, glossy, and transparent finishes using PU and food-safe paints.
10. Labeling / Packing
Items are labeled (sticker, silk-screen, barcode) and packed with protective materials in strong 5-ply cartons.
11. Final QC
Before shipment, random samples are checked based on AQL standards to ensure product quality.
12. Warehousing
Packed cartons are stored in a clean, organized 2,000 m² warehouse ready for shipment.
13. Export
Goods are loaded into containers at our factory and shipped through Hai Phong Port with FOB or CIF options.
